Friction linings for
cable-railway systems

Wherever a human wants to take the mountains he makes use of technical recources. In the majority of cases, these are aerial funiculars such as chair lifts or cable cars. There are also technical means available for horizontal conveyance. These are the funicular railways or the socalled "people movers"; shuttle vehicles borne by air cushions for instance. All of these vehicles are moved by means of cables. Motion is achieved by drive sheaves in which the cables are friction-driven.

Only by special synthetic materials - as BECORIT K 22 or BECORIT D670 SB the required traction can be guaranteed.

Brake pads for
cable-railway systems

BECORIT - Brake pads are operating for many decades. They have proved themselves and stay for reliability and long lifespan.

As most of the braking devices take effect directly to the drive sheaves, the brake pads have to guarantee safety even under all adverse influences like rain, snow and icy coldness.

In the cable railway systems you can find disc brakes as well as shoe brakes. Both applications can be equipped with BECORIT - brake pads.

For calculation of the braking facilities a friction value of µ = 0,4 can be assumed.
